Ronni Jolles

Ronni grew up in Rochester, New York, and Washington, D.C., and graduated from Cornell University with a degree in psychology and art. Ronni was an art educator for 18 years before she became a full-time professional artist.

The artwork of Ronni Jolles is truly unique and innovative. The primary medium used in the work is paper. Hundreds of kinds of paper from all over the world are cut, torn, and layered to create uniquely textured scenes. An acrylic sealant is applied to every layer to protect and enhance textures, and sometimes acrylic paints are used to add variation of color. It could be called collage or mixed media, but in fact, it doesn’t really fit in either category. The reality is, what you are looking at is really more of a sculptural art form. Each piece is one of a kind.

Ronni finds inspiration in quite a variety of subjects, ranging from Italian landscapes, trees by the water, dancers preparing to go on stage, or country gardens. You can learn more about Ronni Jolles at www.RonniJolles.com.
