Sandra Dovberg

Sandy graduated from Skidmore College with a BS in Studio Art with an emphasis in Jewelry Design. She has been a working studio artist since graduation and has taught jewelry at the college level.

After having received many awards for her jewelry and metal art objects, she decided to revisit painting, using a variety of mixed media, but primarily acrylic, to build her paintings. Her eclectic painting style, interpreted through the use of color and composition, ranges from Abstract to Semi-Realism.

Sandy recently relocated from Upstate New York to Reston after many years of involvement in the art scene of Upstate NY and New England. She was an active member of the Designer Crafts Council of the Schenectady Museum and served as President for ten years. She also founded The Firehouse Artists in Albany, a support and critique group of artists who meet monthly.
