Gail Axtell
A native of the Reston and Herndon area, Gail has been involved in the arts her whole life.
She specializes in minute detail and pulls together many different components to create rich and complex work in both her paintings and jewelry.
In painting, she creates highly realistic scenes using acrylic paint in fine washes over textured rice paper which is adhered to her canvas. She also uses Casein, ink, metallic foils, and marbleized papers in her paintings.
She creates exquisite jewelry made from semi-precious gems and druse combined with fine macramé, needlework. and beads.
